Delight in the Everyday is an exhibition which recognises quality in everyday life – the homes, public places, schools, work places, parks, shops and community buildings which we enjoy and form the background to our everyday lives. The exhibition, which was a collaboration between the Design Commission for Wales and Ruthin Craft Centre, celebrates the simple pleasures found in the most unassuming of places.
The exhibition required an initial identity, which was treated bilingually and based on a very static, neutral typographic style coupled with an expressive handwritten flourish. A suite of promotional material was also created to be handed out on site, namely a free 16 page newspaper that highlighted each entrant and a set of individual postcards.
